This 6-week course will provide an introduction to yoga and also a foundation to yoga. It’s open to people who are new to yoga, and those who want to know more about yoga.   

We’ll systematically work through the techniques and effects of yoga poses that move the spine in 6 directions: forward and backward bends, lateral side bends, twists, integrated extension, and inversions. We will practice the poses in isolation to focus on alignment and in integration with other poses to balance the effects. We’ll unite movement with the breath, so we learn to listen to our internal guidance. We’ll also practice the poses on the different bases of the body: belly, back, knees, feet, and hands.  

This is an integrated yoga course meaning we’ll focus on balancing the body with strengthening and stretching asana, and we’ll calm and regulate our minds with breath guided asana, relaxation poses, and breathing practices.
