Twilight lights for Schemerstad festival 2022

A new DansBlokTALENT project for Schemerstad 2022. This well-known festival in Leiden will take place on the 9^th and 10^th of September.

What happens during Schemerstad?
The audience will move over the Leiden canals in boats to see various performances taking place on unique locations. An audience of about 1,300 is expected! This project is to create twilight lights (schemerlampjes) In addition to the longer performances for which the boats actually stop to watch. The boats pass here slowly in groups.

For this project we are making a triptych of Twilight Lights; 3 short choreographies performed in 3 different places along the canals of Leiden. The choreography is performed in a loop, repeating, so that all boats see (a large part of) the entire performance. The three choreographies together form a whole.

Dansblok x Tribes
This is a DansBlokTALENT project! A collaboration between DansBlok and Tribes. We are looking for enthusiastic, talented dancers who dare to perform. The audition is on Thursday 4 August, 20:00 – 21:00 in Leiden. Tessa Wouters and Rosa Allessie are in charge of rehearsals and choreography.

Practical information
– Schemerstad is on September 9 and 10, between 6:00 PM and 10:30 PM.
– 5 groups of boats sail by, so that makes 5 performances per evening.
– We are looking for 3 groups of dancers. Each group will stay in one place all evening, so you learn 1 of the 3 choreographies.
– Each group rehearses 3 times fort wo hours
– The participation fee is €80,- per dancer.
